Prices quoted from About Scotland Tours

Tour prices are quoted for each tour on a daily basis and depends on the number or persons travelling on the tour. Prices are in U.S $ dollars and include the following services. The vehicle, Insurance, Driver/Guide, Itinerary Planning, All fuel and maintenance costs, Car parking fees, Tolls, Guides daily expenses, Local taxes, Transfers. There are no hidden costs. If ferry costs are needed then it shall be highlighted. All emails and contact between the client and AboutScotland, form part of the contract. By paying a deposit you are agreeing to these Terms & Conditions.


The tour price is final unless there is a significant difference from the original request to the actual itinerary requested by the client and in a change of the number of persons – there may be a change to the end costs. This will be highlighted before final payment. General duration of each tour is approx 8 hours including approx 1 hour for lunch. This is flexible, however, any significant addition to this will incur additional costs at the complete discretion of the guide if caused by additional requests or actions from the client.

Tour prices do not include entrance fees, lunch, evening meals, your accommodation, ferry fees. (guides ferry fees to be paid also) or gratuities.


Accommodation and Tour Booking

A none refundable deposit off 30% is required at time of booking. Full payment including daily fees, accommodation (if required) ferry fees, (if required any additional ferry costs can be paid on tour) will be due before the tour start date unless stated. The final costs will be detailed in a final costs email- acceptance of final costs will be complete. The contract and any changes or corrections with regard to dates and accommodation costs are often non-refundable. It is up to the client to ensure all information is correct and agreeable.

Insurances

AboutScotland and the vehicle are insured for passengers and third party claims, as required by law. However whilst every care is always taken, customers personal property is carried at entirely at their own risk and no responsibility can be accepted for loss are damage thereto. Customers are therefore required to ensure that they carry adequate and relevant travel, medical and cancellation insurance- this forms part of the specific contract of the tour and must be in place. In the event of client illness, then the relevant client must accept responsibility for any medical costs incurred and AboutScotland, shall not be liable to refund any part of the tour costs.

AboutScotland accepts no liability for loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, or direct or consequential loss, however caused, unless due to our negligence, in which case our liability is limited to a maximum of the tour costs. Any activities such as walks or visits to attractions are completely at clients own risk. AboutScotland will use all reasonable means to ensure that the vehicle arrives on time to begin the tour and that it reaches the destination on time. The company will not incur any liability whatsoever in the event of any delay due to causes or circumstances beyond its control.

Payment for the tour

Payment can be made in the following ways. ( secure online booking system. or cash £s on the day)

  • Secure international electronic bank transfer in U.S dollars. ( ensuring any charges your bank adds on for sending and receiving are paid before sending)
  • International bankers draft payable U.S dollars
  • Credit/debit card payment vie Stripe . ( Incurs a 3% charge)
  • Cash in pounds sterling GBP

Travel agents

About Scotland does not offer commission rates, although are happy to work with travel agents for specific tour requests or to design a specific tour offering for clients. Any commission levied by travel agents to their clients should be claimed directly from clients before payment to About Scotland. About Scotland is not responsible for commission levied directly to clients.

Cancellation Policy

In the event of cancellation by About Scotland, any monies paid by the client will be fully refunded.

In the event of client cancellation prior to 6 weeks before departure date, at which time the balance of the tour price will become due, full payment, minus deposit and any third party costs incurred (such as ferry fees and accommodation costs) will be returned. In the event of a cancellation of multi-day tours or overnight extended touring by the customer, cancellation charges shall be as follows- cancellation not less than 8 weeks prior – fully refundable less deposit and administration fee. Cancellation 6-4 weeks prior- fully refundable less 75% of the value of the trip. Cancellation within 30 days – non-refundable but the company at its absolute discretion, May permit all or part of such monies as shall be paid to it by the customer in respect of the cancelled period of hire to be applied to a future hire. If the tour is reduced or cut short whilst on tour by the client no refunds are available under any circumstances.
