As we wander through the picturesque village and quaint stone cottages we arrive at the village Kirk ( church) and it’s fascinating churchyard to view the Kirk’s 11th century Viking hogs-back grave stone, a reminder of times when Vikings once plundered local communities in this area. From the churchyard we then wander onto the village pier to view simply stunning vista’s of Loch Lomond, high mountain tops and the lochs many Islands knowing as Inch’s.

Continuing on from Luss, we head into the highlands where the landscape changes dramatically to high mountain vistas and wild tundra. As we journey through the wide expanse of Rannoch Moor, you catch your visit view of Glencoe. There really is no where else in the highlands to beat this haunting glen for beauty and sheer drama. After spending some time in Glencoe, learning of its bloody past and stories of feuding clans, we then travel to the busy harbour town of Oban. We stop here for lunch and time to wander around the pretty harbour and perhaps enjoy some excellent fish & chips.

Leaving Oban, we then journey through the beautiful Argyll countryside, stopping to view many historic sights along the way including St Conan’s Kirk, Kilchurn Castle, and the picturesque town of Inverary, home of the “Duke of Argyll” chief of the clan Campbell.
