This morning we follow in the footsteps of ancient Monarchs and Scottish hero’s including Sir William Wallace & Robert the Bruce.  As we arrive in Stirling, you catch your first glimpse of the imposing Stirling Castle, sitting proudly on top of a volcanic rocky crag.

Arriving on the castle esplanade you can view the magnificent monument to Scotland’s 13th century hero Sir William Wallace, ( Braveheart) completed in 1889 to commemorate the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297. After a tour of the castle’s many historic buildings including the 14th & 15th century Royal Palace, the Great Hall and Castle grounds. We make the short drive to Bannockburn, to view the imposing statue of Scotland’s 14th century hero Robert the Bruce, who won a decisive victory here in 1314.

Leaving Stirling, we travel to the Perthshire highlands, and the pretty market town of Crieff. For the discerning Whisky lover, or if you simply wish to learn the ancient art of Whisky distilling and share a dram, we visit the Glenturret Estate, the spiritual home of the Famous Grouse Distillery. After your behind the scenes tour at Glenturret,we take the back roads through the breathtaking Perthshire, countryside and along the shores of Loch Earn to visit the old Kirk at Balquidder Glen. This is the final resting place of another of Scotland’s folk-hero’s Rob Roy MacGregor, often described as Scotland’s Robin Hood.

Continuing on we journey through the Trossachs National Park, and over the scenic ” Dukes Pass” to view the Bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. If weather permits we can make the short climb for dramatic panoramic views of the loch. From Loch Lomond we then make our way back to your accommodation.
