Firstly we travel to Ayrshire ( approx 1 hour drive time) and the picturesque village of Alloway, birthplace of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national bard. The small thatched cottage where Burn’s was born is a good place to start your poets trail. From the cottage the trail follows the path to the old Kirk Alloway, used as a setting for the gathering of witches & warlocks in the poem Tam o’ Shanter. The trail now leads you to the old Brig o Doon and the world famous Burns Monument, before leading you to the new Robert Burns Museum, showing unique displays of the poets life and works.

Leaving Alloway, we travel to Mauchline where Burn’s set up home with his wife Jean Armour. It’s then onto Mossgiel to view the farm Burns rented for the princely sum of £90 per year with his brother and where he composed some of his best loved poems and songs. We then travel to the 17th century thatched house in Tarboloton, where Burn’s founded the Bachelor’s club. From here we then make our way back to Glasgow, or where ever you are based. arrival time approx 6 pm.
