2 Day Tour: The Highlands, including Glencoe and Loch Ness!

A two day escape exploring the natural beauty of the Scottish highlands including the rugged mountains of Glencoe. Loch Ness and it’s mysterious monster. And an overnight stay in the capital of the highlands Inverness.

Full Tour Package Information

Day 1- Leave Glasgow, 9 am and travel to the picturesque village of Luss on the ” Bonnie” banks of loch lomond. Time here to discover the hidden charms of Luss, including a 10th century Viking grave. Moving on we travel through the wild tundra of Rannoch moor to Glencoe, voted one of the must see places of natural beauty in the world. From here we travel along the shores of loch linnhe to Fort William, for a lunch stop. After lunch we continue north along the Great Glen, to the Commando Memorial viewpoint offering fantastic views of Ben Nevis. Journeying on to Loch Ness, opportunity here to enjoy a 1 hour cruise on the loch to capture that allusive photo of ” Nessie” or perhaps visit the impressive 13th century ruins of Urquhart Castle. Continue to Inverness, for the evening. Arrive approx 6-7 pm.

Day 2- After a hearty Scottish breakfast we first visit the evocative Culloden Moor, sight of the last battle ever fought on British soil between Goverment troops and highland clans led by Bonnie Prince Charlie. From here we will visit the Clava Cairns a 3,500 year old burial sight before heading south through the Cairngorm National Park. For whisky enthusiasts we can visit Dalwhinnie distillery for a tasting and tour or alternativly visit Blair Atholl Castle, ancestral home of the Clan Murray. Arriving in Perthshire, we shall stop at the pretty Victorian town of pitlochry, for lunch. Continuing on our journey, we will visit the Hermitage waterfall and Dunkeld Cathedral before making our way back to where ever you are based. arrival time approx 6-7 pm.
