Scotland Seafood Odyssey Tour 6 Days from Glasgow and Edinburgh.

We know where to find mouth-watering langoustines and lobsters, delicious oysters and mussels, fabulous scallops and fresh succulent crab. The people who produce it are passionate about their produce and what they do and you can taste the quality. You may even meet some of them on your travels.
Our Scottish Seafood Tour is specifically designed for lovers of the finest, freshest seafood and shellfish along the beautiful West Coast of Scotland. Our culinary journey also includes some of the most spectacular coastal scenery Scotland has to offer- clear turquoise waters and golden sandy beaches. Combined with high towering mountains and picturesque highland villages.

Day 1 Oban, the seafood capital of Scotland.
Start your seafood odyssey tour with a visit to the spectacular 15th century Stirling castle. We then take a scenic drive along the back roads to the simply stunning Lake of Menteith Hotel, where you can savour mouth watering seafood and breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding countryside. Moving on our journey continues north through the rolling countryside and high mountain passes, to the picturesque highland town of Oban, your base for the next two evenings.
( in the evening we recommend dining at the excellent Ee-usk seafood restaurant. serving the freshest seafood from local west coast sea lochs. Perhaps indulge in a fantastic seafood platter.)

Day 2- Explore the beautiful Argyll countryside.
Today we follow the spectacular coastal route to Kilmartin Glen (view our Neolithic Blog) the ancient cradle of Scotland. Here we will explore the largest concentration of Neolithic and Bronze Age remains including Stone circles, Standing stones and burial chambers. Moving on we follow the shores of Loch Fyne to the world-famous Oyster Bar, for lunch. Take in the breathtaking views of mountain tops and glacial lochs as you enjoy locally harvested mussels and freshly cooked langoustines. After lunch we visit the charming highland town of Inveraray, and its ancient castle. We then make our way back to Oban, for the evening.
( in the evening we recommend dining at the excellent Cuan Mor which specialises in locally sourced produce including lamb, venison and, of course, seafood)

Day 3- Oban to Wester Ross.
A fantastic day awaits you as we travel north to the wild and rugged mountains of Wester Ross, one of the most scenic, beautiful and secluded areas in the whole of Scotland. As we journey along the shores of Loch Linnhe and over the high mountain pass of Glen Garry, we will arrive at the iconic 13th century Eilean Donan Castle. After a visit to the castle we continue north over the spectacular “ Bealach Na Ba” and along the tranquil Applecross Peninsula with breath-taking views of the rugged coastline and the Isle of Skye. Our destination for the next two evenings will be the charming village of Shieldaig, a perfect location for peace and tranquillity.
( for evening meals we recommend Tigh an Eilean, a beautiful restaurant converted from a row of whitewashed fishing cottages, specialising in fresh local seafood and top-quality meat and game.)

Day 4- A full day exploring the rugged wilderness of Wester Ross.
This morning we drive towards Gairloch, for a unique experience of your trip. Weather permitting you will join a local fisherman on his boat as he gathers in his creel pots. Arriving back on dry island you’ll enjoy a seafood lunch from some of the harvest, prepared for you by the shore line. After lunch we make our way to the charming highland village of Gairloch, where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll along its stunning coastline. Then from here we make our way back to Shieldaig for the evening.
( Dinner at the excellent Tigh an Eilean)

Day 5- Through lochs and glens to Inverness.
Another exciting day ahead as we journey north through the breath-taking wilderness of Torridon to the small picturesque town of Ullapool, standing proudly at the head of Loch Broom.
