Greenock Shore Excursion Itinerary
On this Greenock shore excursion, you will be greeted at the port by your own personal kilted driver/guide.
On this day tour, we visit the home of the Kelpies, the largest equine horse-head sculptures in the world. These impressive 30-metre high horse-heads expertly designed by Scottish sculptor Andy Scott, hark back to the history and heritage of the working heavy horse pulling barges along the Forth & Clyde Canals. The scale of these sculptures can only be appreciated when standing up close to them. From here it’s a short drive to visit the Falkirk Wheel, an exceptional feat of engineering and the first rotating boat lift in the world, connecting the Forth & Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. We then travel the magnificent Stirling Castle, with the option to visit the castle’s many historic 14th & 15th century buildings including the Great Hall and Royal Palace, before continuing our journey along the scenic back roads of the Trossachs National Park, to your accommodation.
