Highlands Whiskey Taster Tour (Perthshire Whiskey Trail): 2 Day Tour Itinerary

Perthshire is home to beautiful landscapes, stunning lochs and glens, pretty towns and villages, historic sites and castles, not to mention some wonderful and contrasting whisky distilleries.

Day 1 – Highlands Whiskey Tour highlights will include: the contrasting distilleries of Blair Atholl one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland and Edradour which produces the last handmade single malt whiskey from a farm distillery still in production today. You will also visit the picturesque village of Dunkeld with its impressive Cathedral and stop at The Hermitage, a beautiful wooded glen with picturesque follies and attractive waterfalls. You will stay overnight in the pretty Victorian town of Pitlochry. There are plenty of good eating and drinking places here and a great selection of shops where you can perhaps pick up some souvenirs and gifts.

Day 2 – Highlands Whiskey Tour highlights will include: visits to two more distilleries – Dewar’s at Aberfeldy, with an excellent interactive exhibition and home to the best-selling Whiskey in the USA!.  Next we visit the award-winning Famous Grouse Experience which demonstrates the process of producing one of the UK’s most successful blended whiskies, The Famous Grouse, with Scotland’s oldest single malt whiskey, The Glenturret.

Other highlights today will include a stop at the spectacular restored 16th century Menzies Castle near Aberfeldy and the scenic Sma Glen, just north of Crieff.

You will return to Edinburgh early evening.
