Booking Terms & Conditions
Please take a moment to review our booking terms and conditions. By confirming a booking with About Scotland Tours, you are agreeing to the terms outlined below.
Payment & Booking Confirmation
A booking is provisionally held once dates and itinerary details are agreed. To confirm your reservation, a non-refundable deposit of 30% is required at the time of booking.
The remaining balance is due no later than 6 weeks before the tour start date. Bookings made within 6 weeks of travel require full payment at the time of confirmation.
Prices & What’s Included
Tour prices vary depending on the number of passengers and itinerary details. Prices are normally quoted in GBP (£). Prices quoted include:
- Private vehicle and professional driver-guide
- Vehicle insurance and local taxes
- Fuel, parking fees, tolls and vehicle maintenance
- Itinerary planning and driver-guide expenses (where applicable)
- Hotel, airport, port or station transfers as agreed
Not included unless otherwise stated:
- Accommodation
- Ferry crossings
- Attraction entry fees
- Lunches, evening meals and refreshments
Final Itinerary & Contract
All correspondence between the client and About Scotland Tours forms part of the contract. A final itinerary and cost summary will be issued prior to final payment. Acceptance of the final cost confirms the booking.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure all details are correct before final payment is made.
Insurance & Personal Responsibility
About Scotland Tours and its vehicles are fully insured as required by UK law. However, personal belongings are carried at the client’s own risk.
Clients must ensure they have adequate travel, medical and cancellation insurance in place. In the event of illness or cancellation, About Scotland Tours is not liable for medical expenses or refunds unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Alterations & Operational Changes
We reserve the right to alter itineraries due to weather conditions, traffic, attraction availability or other circumstances beyond our control.
We also reserve the right to substitute vehicles where necessary.
Third-Party Suppliers
Accommodation, ferries and other third-party services are provided independently. Any such arrangements are subject to the supplier’s own terms and conditions. Contracts for these services are between the client and the supplier.
Accommodation
Where accommodation is arranged on your behalf, it is booked with third-party providers. About Scotland Tours acts only as an intermediary and cannot accept liability for the services provided.
Luggage
Luggage is limited to one small or medium-sized suitcase per person, plus hand luggage, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
Customer Conduct
Smoking is not permitted in any of our vehicles.
We reserve the right to refuse service to any person whose behaviour is disruptive or offensive. In such cases, cancellation charges will apply.
Force Majeure
About Scotland Tours cannot accept liability for events beyond our control, including but not limited to extreme weather, natural disasters, industrial disputes, illness, road closures or acts of terrorism.
Data Protection & Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR. Your information is used solely for managing your booking and providing our services. We do not send marketing communications without explicit consent.
